This herb is not just for your feisty cat but also for your energetic kids, angsty teens, or grumpy old man.

General information
Known to be one of the most eye appealing of the mint family, the plant is known to have an uncanny effect to sooth cats. The distinguishable features about the plant is its heart shaped leaves, covered in fine hairs which makes it soft to the touch. Also the small batch of white with polka-dotted purple flowers that form small cones on top of the plant. Catnip gives off the faint aroma of freshly mown grass and spearmint gum.
This plant's origins in is Europe, Middle East, and Centeral Asia, but you don't need that because you can just get it in the stores now. Please buy the one for your teas please, its not good.
Emotional purposes
Everyone knows what catnip does for cats emotionally. Cats usually exhibit signs of being engulfed in euphoria or being in a playful yet calm state of mind. This effect usually could last for 10 minutes if you are lucky. This effect is more mild for the human side of things. For people, catnip acts as a mild nerve sedative, calming the person to the state of drowsiness. This can help for any kind of reports due, and need a way to calm down.
This has also shown signs of calming down your children ( This herb is safe to use with children). Future or present parents pay attention! Whenever your kid is going through a temper tantrum, this might help calm them down to sleep.
Physical purposes
Other than just helping with stress this plant can be used to treat colds, upset stomachs, and any other symptoms that may come from these ailments. So if you need a natural way to get rid of those nasty colds or upset stomachs from Taco Tuesday, then look no further.
How to Apply
Like I said before, you could use the plant in teas to get its effects. The leaves and flower tops can be used for tinctures or teas. Either way you are still going to get the effects.
If you want to go for the more fancy route, then add in some chamomile to the mix of your relaxing tea. Chamomile was known as the "Cure all plant", so if the name of the plant is true then you are set with a perfect "Cure all", tea. Catnip helps cure emotional conditions and chamomile helps cure physical conditions.
